About the World Heritage Tour

1. Kathmandu Durbar Square
History & Culture: Serving as the royal seat of the Malla kings, this historic square features grand courtyards, stone statues, and multi-tiered pagoda temples built between the 12th and 18th centuries.
Importance: It houses Hanuman Dhoka Palace and the Kumari Ghar—the residence of the Royal Kumari, the world's only living goddess, showcasing supreme Newari woodcarvings.
2. Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple)
History & Culture: Perched atop a green hill west of the city, Swayambhunath is one of the world's oldest Buddhist chaityas, offering sweeping panoramic valley views.

4. Boudhanath Stupa
